Why is it called a keyless light




















Old electrician here. We always called the porcelain ones with no pull chain or string a "keyless" fixture and the ones with a chain or string a "pull chain" fixture. A keyless fixture always had to be wired to a wall switch. I never knew why they were called keyless. RE: Keyless light fixture.
